Pissarro is an Impressionist artist. His paintings can be lively and refreshing, capturing beautiful scenes of nature, or they can be darker and more somber. In either case, Pissarro’s paintings are always thought-provoking and captivating to the viewer.

Camille Pissarro was also a Printmaker. He was a childhood friend of Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh. The early artistic endeavors were heavily influenced by the French Naturalists or Barbizon School, but as he matured he started to paint in the free form style of his peers in the Impressionist movement.

You can see his work in major art galleries around the world. He was heavily influenced by Monet and frequently painted in areas far away from his hometown. His landscapes of Northern France were laid out like Impressionist paintings and are now iconic images for Paris, France.
