Claude Monet Canvas Wall Art

Oscar-Claude Monet (1840–1926) Monet was a famous French Impressionist painter. He is best known for his paintings of water lilies, haystacks, and bridges on the Seine. Monet discovered in later life that he had cataracts, which caused him much grief because it prevented him from painting his favorite subjects. This didn’t stop him though! He started using colored pastels to paint with instead of oils and this became a new style adopted by many other artists.

Monet is regarded as one of the most influential painters in history. His work, which often depicted nature, took a new turn when he began experimenting with painting outside in natural light. He also created new techniques of painting such as using pointillism and creating large paintings from many different pieces of smaller ones.
