Born in London, Nash grew up in Buckinghamshire. He loved the landscape and studied art for a bit before concentrating on landscape painting. He found landscape inspiration in burial mounds, Iron Age hill forts, standing stones, and other such places. After WWI he focused on landscapes and eventually began using everyday objects as symbols within his paintings.
