Watanabe Seitei Canvas Wall Art
Watanabe Seitei, a Nihonga painter, He blended Western realism with delicate colors and washes found in the kacho style of painting.This new approach to kacho introduced a new approach to painting that combined traditional techniques with Western techniques.
Watanabe Shotei was active as an editor and contributor to the art magazine called “The World of Art” in 1890. He also illustrated the first issue of the magazine and contributed with ten other artists.
He received many awards, and they were shown in Japan and out of Japan. He served as a major inspiration to the following generation of Nihonga artists, notably Mizuno Toshikata (1866-1908) and Kaburagi Kiyokata (1878-1973).
