While both offer a glossy finish, Acrylic Prints (often called Plexiglass) are superior for wall art because they are lighter, shatter-resistant, and offer better optical clarity. Acrylic is 50% lighter than glass and has higher light transmission, which means your photos look more vibrant and “lit from within.” At CanvasJet, we use premium, UV-resistant acrylic that doesn’t have the green tint often found in standard glass, ensuring 100% color accuracy.

The “3D effect” is created by printing your image directly onto the back of a 5mm thick, crystal-clear acrylic sheet. Because the light travels through the thickness of the acrylic before hitting the image, it creates a sense of depth and luminosity. We further enhance this by adding a white opaque backing layer, which traps the light inside the acrylic and makes the colors appear exceptionally “punchy” and vivid compared to flat paper prints.

We offer two distinct looks for your decor. Aluminium Standoffs (Studs) are four visible corner bolts that secure the print 2cm away from the wall, ideal for a modern or corporate look. The Hidden Hanging System is an invisible frame on the back that allows the print to “float” off the wall without visible hardware, making it the preferred choice for minimalist luxury interiors and high-end photography galleries in the UAE.

Yes. Acrylic is an incredibly durable, non-porous material that is naturally resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations. Unlike canvas or paper, which can sag or warp in humidity, acrylic remains dimensionally stable. Our UV-direct printing process uses specialized inks that bond to the plexiglass, ensuring your art won’t peel or fade, even in the intense light conditions common in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Absolutely. Because Acrylic Prints are waterproof and easy to wipe clean, they are the best choice for high-moisture areas like bathrooms, kitchens, or even covered outdoor patios. Unlike wood-framed art, there is no risk of rot or mold. You can simply use a soft, damp microfiber cloth to remove steam marks or grease splashes without damaging the artwork.

Acrylic is a premium material that requires gentle care. Never use glass cleaners or ammonia-based products (like Windex), as they can cloud the surface. Instead, use a soft, clean microfiber cloth and a drop of mild soap with water. For the best results, wipe in a gentle circular motion to remove dust or fingerprints without leaving streaks or micro-scratches.

Because acrylic is optically clear and sharp, it is less “forgiving” of low-quality photos than canvas. For a crisp, professional look, we recommend images with a resolution of at least 300 DPI. Our in-house designers manually review every file; if your photo is too low-resolution for the size you’ve selected, we will contact you to suggest an optimization or a different size before we proceed with production.

Unlike standard “saw-cut” edges which appear cloudy or frosted, our diamond-polishing process uses specialized machinery to buff the edges of the plexiglass to a crystal-clear, mirror-like finish. This is crucial for high-end photography because it allows ambient light to enter the acrylic from all sides, creating a unique “refraction” effect. This internal light travel makes the image appear to glow from within and ensures the artwork looks premium and finished from every viewing angle.

The choice depends on the visual “vibe” of your space. Acrylic Prints are favored for their 3D depth and “wet” look, making them ideal for high-contrast landscapes and vibrant portraits where you want a luxurious, glass-like finish. Metal Prints, on the other hand, are ultra-slim, lightweight, and have a more industrial, matte-to-satin finish. While both are waterproof and durable, Acrylic is the undisputed king of “depth,” while Metal is preferred for minimalist, lightweight installations where a slimmer profile is required.

Because acrylic has a naturally high-gloss surface, it acts similarly to a high-end mirror. To minimize unwanted reflections from windows or bright overhead lights, we recommend placing your acrylic art on a wall that receives indirect sunlight or using specialized “spot” lighting directed at a 45-degree angle. The internal brilliance of our UV-direct printing actually helps overcome surface glare by making the colors so punchy that they “cut through” the reflection, ensuring your image remains the focal point of the room.
